Developed as an educational tool for both patients and doctors to assess how changes in ones risk factors influence their risk of cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is defined as a composite of coronary heart disease (coronary death, myocardial infarction [heart attack], coronary insufficiency, angina), cerebrovascular disease (stroke, transient ischemic attack) and peripheral artery disease (intermittent claudication).

This app is based on data collected from the Framingham Heart Study and published by DAgostino et al. in the journal Circulation (2008). For more information visit the official Framingham website.
